Scotland was amazing

My wife—who is an even bigger golf nut than me—and I just got back from a golf vacation to Scotland. We took two weeks and saw the Northern and Western parts of the country. We booked our golf vacation through Golf Holidays. The site was highly recommended to us by one of Beth’s friends, and I am so glad that we investigated the packages available on this site.

During our first week in the Northern portion, we played amazing rounds of golf at the Royal Dornoch on an absolutely gorgeous and regal course. I can’t even begin to tell you what a wonderful time we had. The scenery was breathtaking and we relished the time to catch up with each other and just enjoy each other’s company. The greens were beautifully manicured and maintained and the sites from the course were spectacular. Everyone we saw at the course was friendly and the employees were courteous and very helpful with the questions we had. We stayed at the Eagle Hotel, which was only about a half mile from the golf course, so we did not need to drive. The hotel reminded us of a pub. It reminded Beth and me of our college semester abroad in London, which is where we met. The hotel’s owners, Paul and Irene, made sure that all our needs and wants were met. We have such praise for the couple that we plan to go back.

We spent our second week in the Western part of Scotland and stayed at the Parkstone Hotel. This hotel, too, was wonderful and so reasonably priced. The bed was very comfortable and the room itself was immaculate. The service was exceptional. The accommodations were excellent and it was very close to both the Preswick Golf Club and the St. Nicholas Golf Club. Beth and I had a fabulous time playing both courses. Nothing compares to playing on courses that date back to the 1800s.

We had such a great time in Scotland that leaving to return home was difficult. Our biggest dilemma for our next trip through Golf Holidays is this; are we going to try new places to stay and play, or are we going to go back to the ones we have already been to? Next year when we book our next vacation, it will be through Golf Holidays. We are sure of that. We just need to decide where to go. There really are so many choices.

The Perfect Golf Holidays to Make Retirement Fun

I had always loved to play golf; ever since I was young I followed the professional golf players, watched the masters and tried to emulate my favorite players.  I have always dreamed of playing golf on the professional circuit, but since I am nowhere near as good as the pros, I will have to settle for a lovely golf vacation and just live out my fantasies at some of the top golf destinations in the country.  I plan to take travel to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina and play golf at Arcadian Shores, Azalea Sands, Beachwood, Carolina National, Eaglenest, Glen Dornoch, Legends-Heritage Club, Meadowlands, Possum Trot, River Oaks and Waterway Hills just to name a few.  I found the perfect golf travelpackages through Golf Holidays and the prices were fantastic.

I am also planning on enjoying some golf in Scotland as well, within the next year or two.  I plan on touring around and enjoying the best and most challenging golf courses in the world.  I haven’t treated myself to a vacation like this in years and I am truly looking forward to it.  In Scotland, I plan to visit such golf courses as Dundonald, Glasgow Gailes, Kilmarnock Barassie, Machrie, Machrihanish, Prestwick, Royal Toon-Old, Royal Troon-Portland, Shiskine, the Turnberry courses and Western Gailes, just to name a few.  I am so excited to finally have the opportunity to pursue my passion for golf and plan to take several golf vacations over the next few years and the company I will book with every time is Golf Holidays.

My next stop would have to be an Ireland golf holiday.  Some of the top golf courses in Ireland are just waiting for me to discover them.  When I am visiting Ireland I plan to tee off at places like County Louth, Druids Glen, Druids Heath, Island Golf Club, Faithlegg, the K-club Palmer, Smurfit, Links Portmarnock, Portmarnock, Royal Dublin, Rosslare, Seapoint, the European Club and many other top golfing venues in the country.  I have a feeling I will be taking several more golf trips as long as I can find the best packages available at Golf Holidays, I plan to travel and enjoy my retirement.

I also plan to take some golf trips around the United States, Golf Holidays offers packages to California, Arizona, the Carribean, Canada, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Mexico, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon, and international locations like Portugal and Spain.
